Have just looked up the Number one on 26 Feb 1976 which was my first Albion game and am gobsmacked to find it was the perfect song. I seem to recall our look at me eccentric New York fan chose to make his own version of this after our win over Palace last season too

February 15 – 28 1976 Four Seasons - December '63 (Oh, What A Night)

The game? A night game vs Palace and Albion won 2-0

I bet none of you can come close with a more apt record to have been number one for your first Albion game :lolol:

1973. No idea who was in the charts, Slade? BCR? Bowie?

What a crappy, can't be arsed, bone idle sort of answer that is. It would, however , be my answer also. I was only interested, nay mesmerised, by what was happening in front of me and,as such, it would have been my reply also!

Just a quick gander at albums from 1994. This classic came out then.

Whilst I did see a game in 1974, I actually started regularly watching in 1977 when I returned from Cape Town......

Music.. nothing beat the great Never Mind The Bollocks album that year in my view....

Number one for my first Brighton game was Phil Collins - You can't hurry love, well we lost two nil so he was quite right.

Songs for the year, spoilt for choice, Too Shy - Kajagoogoo, Candy Girl - New Edition, Total Eclipe of the Heart - Bonnie Tyler, Down Under - Men at Work, Tue - Spandau Ballet, Lets Dance - David Bowie, Every Breath you take - The Police but I'm going to go with two that didn't make number 1 - Blue Monday and Story of the Blues (bit of a theme going here)

Number 1 on the day of my first game was Rolf Harris with Two Little Boys.

Further down the charts, there’s some great tunes / memories.

Oh Well - Fleetwood Mac
Something - The Beatles
Both Sides Now - Judy Collins
Leaving on a Jet Plane - Peter, Paul & Mary
Melting Pot - Blue Mink
Sugar, Sugar - The Archies
My Way - Frank Sinatra

Looking forward to my 50th anniversary in January 2020.

Easter Monday 23rd April 1973 Albion vs Pompey. 1-1

And the Police had a mobile incident room set up outside the ground regarding the murder of Clive Olive in Shoreham Harbour (funny what you remember when you were 8 years old)

I bought Hellraiser by the Sweet for 25p at Bon Bons in Tarring Road(ex juke box records)
