What nonsense!

People like Mosley should be allowed to shout their views from the rooftops. Doesn't mean you have to agree with them. By gagging them you make it appear like they have something wise and intelligent to offer.

The counter view would be that it is a little more difficult for Jewish people to hear Mosley’s poisonous views, especially given the current political atmosphere in the Labour Party. On balance though, I agree that Mosley is of historical interest.
Perhaps the OP can find some other interviews by cuddly fascists for us to enjoy ?

I'll defer thanks, out of interest if you go in the other stuff on this board you start threads called Coon Cheese a few times, it isn't hard to work out what your agenda is

the OP is correct, we should listen and learn from history because we have n't so far understood that the right wing privileged group still control this country. People listen to Boris and Rees-Mogg and believe what they say and what they portray as an ideal. A simple measure of this is why does fox hunting persist and why do the police do little to enforce the law.

I am with HWT's Dad on this.

You just need to look at Moselys’ eyes to realise he’s a maniac. The BUF were a ridiculous joke when they were at their peak..now? A footnote at best.

It’s worth noting here that the Nazis tried to recruit a British SS division from the BUF and commonwealth POWs (see Britishches Friekorp) which never amounted to more than about 50 swivel eyed loons. The British just don’t “do” dictators or authoritarians.

I am interested in the suggestion that the EU was initially a Nazi aspiration, there is a lot of truth to the claim that the idea of an economic union among the European nations was first posited by Nazi economists but the current setup is wildly different from that which Hitler envisioned. Their plan agrees with what we see today in that their “EU” would have a single currency, free trade and borderless comms. But it also posited total subservience to Germany, slavery of Southern Europeans and Slavs, plus Gauleiters running member states...oh...and no Jews.

I am not for or against SirO/M. It's the ability he had to cotnrol people

Well you should be against, FFS. What's the matter with you?

A couple of years after the event to which I referred above, my dad and countless others were putting their lives on the line to fight Mosely's soul-mate, in Jew hate, Hitler. One thing that historically unites British left and right is a patriotic hatred of facism.

And Mosely didn't 'control' anyone outside his own (unelectable) rabble. He started out as a labour MP (FFS) then like Kilroy-Silk, he let his small penis rule his head and became a facist.

You need to get a grip. Seriously.

Wasn’t that Mussolini? I'm sure I saw a documentary which explained that the Nazi civilian administration was actually chaotic, and in stark contrast to its military prowess.

yes, it was Mussollini who was said to get the trains running on time.

You make it sound as though the two are mutually incompatible!
It's a little known fact in this country (and I wonder why) that the full name of the Nazi party was the National Socialist German Workers' Party.

Watford and Deportivo, thats my point. Just listen to the interview and take it a part step by step.

It’s not though is it. From where I’m sitting you are merely giving this ******** a platform to spout crap even though he is thankfully no more. Doesn’t speak very highly of you.

Don't be silly. There is nothing in common between 'national socialism' and 'socialism'. You clearly haven't read 1984.

In the interest of fairness (I don't just kick right wing loonies) the greatest misnomer in politics is the Socialist Worker Party, in that they are neither socialists nor, in the main, workers. And it was a shit, shit party (mostly beardy dull men, and rubbish music).

Worthing has strong historical links to Oswald Mosely's Fascist Party and was a bit of a fascist hotbed in the 30s.
One of the first branches of the British Union of Fascists was set up in Worthing and it was also the first town in the UK to elect a Fascist counsellor. It all culminated in a large scale riot in 1934 when Fascists and anti Fascists clashed in what became known as the Battle of South Street.

That's fascinating. I was brought up in Worthing (post war) and had absolutely no idea about any of that. And I was only walking around that area yesterday with my brother!

I'm all for free speech , but equally (un)impressed how long this thread has run. Fascism is not acceptable in a fair society. a simple explanation is all that's needed.

If you think it's a good thing then you're clearly the kind of person who needs educating, or has previously been brainwashed. (Daily mail for example)

This may be my most restrained post ever!

Superb interview in which whether you agree or not, unlike today's rant in your face/soc media poison.

Fascinating watch. Very eloquent, and very, very clever - bits of sweet reason cleverly woven in, but coming to completely the wrong solutions, and cleverly (almost) hiding the nasty stuff. A dangerous man, and, dangerously, almost convincing - and sadly would have been convincing to some people I guess.
It must be a bit confusing to some of those who fervently believe Brexiteers are of the right - more or less fascists to some - to find that the real fascists were in favour of European Union. The left weren't in favour - and were routinely abused as commies, reds under the bed and Russia lovers by the pro EU (or EEC then) supporters back in 1975. Times have changed - but perhaps they haven't changed all that much; abuse is still used towards leavers by proponents of remaining in the EU.

Mosley was a dangerous facist who could count as personal friends and political alies many of the most evil people of the last 75 years as an example when he and Diana Mitford were married they choose to do it at Joseph Gobbles home and had as guest of honour Adulf Hitler, Mosleys ties to the establishment directly continued until the late 1970s with the Rothermeares and their control of the press, his wife was a cousin of lady Churchill, Julian Avery the Tory MPs younger brother John Avery was a close friend and the last person to be hung for treason, Mosley was a cleaver orator who used his skills to bring facists ideology to British politics as a Nazi sympathiser he was a traitor but was never tried as such I think largely due to his friends within the establishment
