Here's a thought for the think tank. Being alive longer doesn't mean you remain fit to work longer, either physically or mentally.
and in all likelihood you will need to fund your care for longer therefore reducing/eliminating inheritance for all but the very wealthy

this issue need less partisan politics more rational debate. truth is state pension age will need to go up for pensions to be sustanable. those entering the job market now probably will see retirement at 75. if we dont want to accept that then tax and compulsory contributions need to go up quite alot.

I don't always agree with you but I do here. The current pension set up needs reviewing and an understanding that it really isn't sustainable as life expectancy rises.
That said, IDS is a nasty piece of work and a total tosser, so I'm concerned this is has come from him.
