[Albion] Albion endorsed "casual" clothing as flogged in the shop

Anyone know what the What3words equivalent is?

(from today's BBC online)

'What3words: The app that can save your life'

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-49319760

I've been intrigued by this for a while. What would happen if you fell into a ditch at Send.Help.Soon near Welwyn Garden City, would they believe you?
That thread does exist after the most tedious poster on here listened to The Futility Closet podcast on the same subject.

It contains all the relevant 3 words, AMEX, Goldstone Selhurst etc.

Good luck finding it, and staying awake.

Is it possible that Nike call the shots on the casual stuff, won’t allow anything ‘too good’ as it’ll draw sales from their sweat shop gear?

We were selling the same crap gear in the shop before we tied-up with Nike...

You could be speaking of Nike here and that is why I have never bought, and will never buy, any Nike product. Their business ethics and their treatment of their far eastern workforce stinks.

I'm curious where you buy your clothes given your strong ethical stance. Must be quite hard to avoid any sweatshop produced clothing.

I think Barber missed a trick with this lot.

Stopping the likes of TOFFS producing shirts was a mistake - especially as the Score Draw stuff isn't as good. However, if they are going to take this on themselves, surely they are missing a trick by not reproducing some of the memorable kits which are very hard to get hold of now - the 'pink' shirt and the 'chewitt' wrapper shirts would surely sell fairly well.

The most curious thing..

And the stripey shorts.

Can't disagree about the comments on Albion's own range. It's awful.

But the Teegulls stuff was fun because it played with other company's logos and intellectual properties, which the club obviously can't endorse.

Personally, I'd like to see player T-shirts, as you get in the States, but I guess it could impact actual shirt sales.

I see the club tied up with a headwear specialist. A step forward.

Good head's up. Hats look decent.

I'll be fair and admit I like some of the designs. But rarely buy because the quality is so poor. My other beef is the lack of subtle badgework. Just a seagull or very small badge. I liked the old Tommy Hilfiger type BHA badged shirts and the caps with just a small off centre seagull so I can wear them elsewhere, rather than just the Amex. I bought a new cap for this season, but the badge is too big for casual wear.

Bit like this. I prefer the smaller seagull imprint so I can wear it away from football

Not for twenty quid. I'll get my nan to knit me one and see how long it takes for it to go on the list with bottle tops and flasks.

I don’t think it helps when you follow American sports and you see the never ending line of merch, the range of caps and beanies for a single NFL team is staggering, those Albion caps are very vanilla.
It's true. But they're still better than any previous Albion caps. Or UK football team caps in general which have all been SHITE.

I meant the caps Dick. But then, I think we both know that... [emoji23]

EVERY time I see someone wearing a Hollister top, I do a double take. Despite the fact that I live in Yorkshire. Every time, FFS.

Someone FROM Brighton, even asked me last week in a pub, whether the t-shirt I was wearing was a club one or a Hollister one. I cannot for the life of me understand why any Albion fan looking for something understated to show their allegiance, doesn't just pop in there. The stuff is cheaper, massively better quality, is actually fitted, and there is a much bigger range of stuff

(Sorry Paul)

Absolutely. Aren't you a bit odd to be wandering around Hollister though? [emoji23] [emoji23] [emoji23]
