I've been neglecting my Firestick lately, so thought I'd give it a workout and came across this. Anyone else watching it ? I'm 5 deep into 8, its bloody good. Superheros that are utter self-centred, dangerous, egotistical lying wankers. Some proper 18 certificate mayhem and gore going on. HIGHLY recommended

I'm two deep. Recently upgraded my internet connection which has massively improved my ability to stream, but am catching up on my netflix and prime watch lists, so a couple of episode os this, a couple of punisher, some jessica jones, some good omens, etc.

I was excited about the boys after seeing a couple of trailers, but I'm not sure I'm totally sold on it yet. I need to come to terms with it not being as consistently funny (ie not a full on comedy) or full of scenes like the Robin's death. Hope to crack out a couple more episodes tomorrow.

Ah. Yet another graphic novel to TV remake.

The books are bloody good, but I guess, like Preacher/ Walking Dead etc, there's no way it can be as DARK as the original.

I'll still have a look obvs.

Edit - Actually, screw you Easy as I'm obviously going to have to start watching it now....

Well its not really setting up as an out-and-out dark comedy (I nearly said black then, but I know the pearl-clutching goonsquad are lurking and ever ready to pounce). It certainly has its LOL moments, and some of them unbelievably Pascal, but I'm finding it a really refreshing take on the whole superhero genre. I'm so sick of the endless Avengers / Superhero movies, its actually interesting to see a totally different world where superpowers are being secretly abused behind a facade. Like Superman when he didn't shave, drank whisky, and broke a mirror behind a bar with his laser eyes (that genuinely shook me when I was a kid).

Hither (sometimes Thither)
Tis good. I binged it a week ago. I can't remember of what or why, but episode 6 hooked me more emotionally. All of it gruesome throughout, which is a plus.

Judging by the amount of times this has popped up on NSC I'm guessing I'm the only person who found all a little derivative and predictable. (Ep 1 & 2 not gone back since)

Thanks for the summary. Saved me some time - I'll give it a miss!

I finished the 5th last night. The plane crash, dolphin, baby ward and Invisible man plots have all been superb.

Karl Urban does need to go to the 'Danny Dyer school of cockney' though.

Yeah, I totally get that now. Just sometimes when I start watching a show with a certain expectations of what it will be and it isn't that, it takes me a few episodes to readjust, this was one of those shows I went in expecting something other than it was. I am enjoying it, I just have a certain disonance I need to correct.

I love pretty much all superhero films etc. but watching them - including less mainstream ones like Krrish, Push, Meteor Man, Guardians, HK: Forbidden Superhero (about a man who turns into a superhero when he puts stolen panties on his head!), Non-superhero superhero movies like Super, Defendor, Franklin, I'm fully aware of the potential to move away from that standard Marvel/DC-type worlds and do enjoy the difference.

The best line is definitely the blackmail threat to Boneclaw. When he’s talking about a particular genre/category on a well known pornographic video website.

I thought he was Australian to start with.
He keeps switching from Australian to cockney!

It's the one poor thing about the show tbf. I'm enjoying it.

The comic is still way better, and very different in lots of ways, but that's to be expected.

I thought he was Australian to start with.

I'm sure he said in the 1st episode he said he was from New Zealand. I only really clicked when he started drinking tea and talked about the Spice Girls. That said, I think he is the best thing in it.

I came across this thread the other day and thought I'd give it a go. Watched all episodes in 3 days. Really enjoyed it.

The Kiwi actor trying to be British is possibly the most foul mouthed actor ever to appear on TV. :)

That scene with the Dolphin crashing through the windscreen and then being run over by the HGV made me laugh out loud.:lolol:
