With al, the revelries and jollyness on the seafront, something very strange is happening down by king Alfred and Sackville Road.

We were heading back to the car on Grand Parade and a police car raced passed, blues and twos screeched to a halt and a officer leaped out and looked to be holding what looked like a stinger to deploy over the road!

There was some people pointing down towards king Alfred and as we drove past there was about 10 police cars flashing lights and all and officers again deploying something at the side of the roads and the police helicopter overhead.

Anyone in the area know what is going on?

Hopefully all the numpties are not out in force today as the atmos on the seafront is absolutely superb!

I dunno what's going on but I live opposite the bowling greens and there's been a police helicopter circling for the last hour or so. Bloody annoying as I'm trying to watch the cricket!

Stinger would only be deployed for disabling a vehicle that is being pursued.

Unless it's driving round and round in circles, which is unlikely, then the offenders will have made off from the vehicle on foot and that'll be while the helicopter has been in one area for that long.

I'm surprised that if you know what a stinger is, that you couldn't work out the rest.

Kick-cyclist-Gate?

Almost saw some of that yesterday.......all the Brighton Uni grads pouring out of the Centre after the ceremony to get their ‘beach/pier’ pics oblivious to the cycle lane. Imagine (bit like today) some of the cyclists were distracted as well......[emoji23][emoji23]

..... or

The helicopter (which was over the city anyway for Pride), was able to fly over in seconds to assist a pursuit. With the stinger ready on an anticipated route of the pursued?
