Transfer window has SWUNG open, though I don’t expect to see any loan action until after the FA Cup match against MASSIVE at the earliest.

He was released from his contract so Charlton could sign him.
There was a loophole that although his contract was terminated after the PL/Championship transfer window had shut, and because the League 1/2 window was still open, his contract termination was deemed to have happened in time to sign elsewhere as a free agent.

Review of the Half Season: Loanees A through L
As we move into January, and all the potential swings and roundabouts that a new loan window opening may bring, a quick recap on how some of our loanees have been doing. First up (because there are far too many for me to go over all at once) loanees A-L.
Soufyan Ahannach (Union Saint-Gilloise) - Following on from his disastrous double leg break while on loan to Sparta Rotterdam in 2018, Ahannach came back into the U23 side towards the end of last season and has since been loaned back out to the Low Countries. Bloom's other club Union SG have borrowed Ahannach for the season, though he has not managed to emulate the success of Tau with the club, mainly benchwarming as an unused substitute. Ahannach's contract runs out with the Albion at the end of the season - after which I would expect him to return to Holland.
Florin Andone (Galatasaray) - The divisive Romanian was a surprise loan exit to Galatasaray following his reckless red card against Southampton at the end of August and rumours of a rift between him and a number of our other players. He spent a good portion of the next couple of months badmouthing Brighton in the press, but only managed to score two goals for his new Turkish club (both against the current league leaders Sivasspor in October). Andone has tasted Champions League football this season as a result of the move but Galatasaray limped out of the competition, bottom of Group A with only 2 points to their name. Florin suffered a Medial Ligament injury against Gaziantep in early November, and is not expected to play again this season. Expect him to return to Brighton for his recovery.
Billy Arce (SC Barcelona) - The young Ecuadorian, following a failed spell in the Spanish Segunda Division last season, returned to his homeland to play for Barcelona (no, not that one...). Arce has only scored once since joining, though was a regular starter as Barcelona finished 7th in the 2019 Ecuadorian Liga Pro. However his most notable undertaking this season was undoubtedly serving 30 days in jail after being found guilty of drink driving. No closer to a work permit, no closer to the required quality and presumably not too close to getting his driving licence back, the Silly Arse would appear to be one that just hasn't worked out.
Matthew Clarke (Derby County) - Signed in the summer from Portsmouth and immediately loaned out to Derby, Clarke starred in the club's first game of the season, a resounding win against Huddersfield. Since then his form was somewhat up and down as he adjusted to life in the second tier. Aided by the injury to Richard Keogh through another drunk driving incident, Clarke became one of the regular starting centre backs until he picked up a knee injury in early November against arch-rivals Forest. Clarke returned to the starting lineup on the 30th December with a strong performance in a win against Charlton.
George Cox (Fortuna Sittard) - Cox has had his ups and downs over the last few seasons, including heart surgery and having his loan spell with Northampton interrupted last season due to injuries. Cox has said that several clubs weren't willing to take a risk on him given this history, which led him to a loan spell in the Netherlands. Fortuna Sittard sit 13th in the Eredivisie, and Cox has consistently been the starting left back for the club during this first half of the season. It was rumoured that Sittard have an option to buy at the end of the season, so it would be likely that they would take up the option if Cox continues to perform. And it would seem to have been a very shrewd move on Cox's part to kickstart his career by going abroad - a move that increasing numbers of English youngsters seem to be willing to make.
Anders Dreyer (Heerenveen) - Following a successful loan period in the second half of last season at St Mirren, Dreyer has become another Eredivisie loanee this season joining a strong Danish contingent at Heerenveen. Dreyer hasn't had the same level of success this season as Cox, having been utilised primarily from the bench, making only one league start and scoring a single goal. However Dreyer has stated in interviews that he is enjoying his time in the Netherlands, and would be keen to complete the season with the Dutch side despite a lack of playing time - though ultimately it is Brighton's decision to make.
Viktor Gyökeres (FC St Pauli) - Gyokeres joined the Albion in January 2018, quickly becoming the U23 star striker as the team were promoted to Premier League 2 Division 1. This status was somewhat gazumped last season with the emergence of Connolly, though Gyokeres's record of consistently scoring goals across the youth levels attracted the attentions of St Pauli in Germany's second tier. Gyokeres had a somewhat slow start to his time in Hamburg, but has been starting week in week out for the boys in brown and building his form as the season has gone on, now registering 5 goals and 2 assists in 11 appearances for St Pauli, and 2 further goals for Sweden's U21s.
Beram Kayal (Charlton Athletic) - Kayal has had a somewhat torrid time of it since joining Charlton on loan in the summer. Previously Albion's player of the season at this level, the Israeli has struggled for fitness with Charlton, starting only 2 games (with 4 more substitute appearances). The Addicks faithful seem to be losing their patience with Beram, who is currently out injured again with a groin issue picked up on international duty. It is quite possible that this loan will be cut short, as Charlton look to fill one of their valuable loan spots with someone who can play a more active role in their season.
Anthony Knockaert (Fulham) - Former Championship Player of the Season made a surprise return to the second tier with Fulham signing the Frenchman on a loan-to-buy basis to reinforce their case for an immediate return to the PL. Knockaert, as you might expect, has performed solidly, with the Cottagers sitting in the playoff places, but hasn't managed to repeat the heights of 2016/17. Starting 18 matches (8 further as a substitute), and scoring twice, Knockaert has become a key part of the Fulham squad, without reaching the cult hero status that he managed in double-quick time here on the south coast.
Jurgen Locadia (Hoffenheim) - Big Jurg was another high profile loan departure in the summer, joining the Bundesliga's Hoffenheim. Locadia has been fairly successful during his time in southwest Germany, registering 4 goals and an assist from 5 starts and 5 substitute appearances. For context, he only managed to score six times in a season and a half of football for the Albion in all competitions. It seems unlikely that Locadia will return to Sussex to play any further meaningful part for the seagulls, but if he can continue to play well in the German top tier, then we may be able to recoup some of the significant sum paid out for the Dutchman.

Anders Dreyer has been recalled from his loan to Heerenveen and sold to FC Midtjylland for an undisclosed fee.

Clarke back to being a bit guff again on Saturday, frustrating - He's great in the air and a decent footballer but doesn't half lack pace and mobility.
