Reading all the sniping and hysterical vitriol aimed at Boris, Mogg et al by the usual suspects (never vote Tory types, #teameu types, class warrior types etc) it would appear those that voted him in made exactly the right choice. Despite many misgivings, I am beginning to warm to our new PM.

Well, I got some light relief from this battleground by watching the stream of the 4-0 win against Brum.
Some promising bits and pieces I thought and it takes one away from aggro.
Out for my birthday meal with the family soon. Hey-ho, we'll have a good time but I dare say I will over indulge and drink like I was 21 instead of 71! :lolol:

Really? All he's done so far is bluster, wave his arms around, bang the table and promise to spend a lot of money that he'll have to borrow. Hardly encouraging for me. In fact, I think he'll end up to be more of a liability than anything else. The so called Boris charm will only get you so far and won't cut much ice with the EU, or other respected leaders around the world. I don't count Trump as a respected leader, of course.

As soon as a world leader starts spouting bollocks about making the country great again, then I start to get very nervous. It normally means they haven’t got a clue, they’ll try and use force of personality, whataboutism, pick on minorities and generally blame everyone else. To be honest we haven’t been great since WWII or maybe the early sixties. Economically things aren’t nearly as bad as previous decades so ‘making the country great again’ really is bollocks.
Boris is a prick. He wouldn’t piss on any of us if we were on fire unless it benefitted him. To be fair this is a trait of most politicians at the moment.
If I was it a locked room with Boris, Corbyn, mcdowell, Reese ****ing Mogg and Farage and I had a gun with only one round then I’d shoot myself.

Just about the only 2 things Boris is likely to do that I'd approve of would be to drop HS2 and the 3rd Heathrow runway. Environmental disasters, I'm afraid.

You make some fair points but having the PM instil a bit of positivity and belief that this country can prosper and succeed is no bad thing. Ultimately he will be judged on delivery just like all previous PM's. If (big if) he gets Brexit done and the world doesn't end as predicted then he might end up surprising quite a few people ... not that they would admit it obviously.

If he can hang on (which is doubtful) and Goldsmith in at the Environment, they are both gonna look VERY stupid if Heathrow goes ahead.
