A changeover year in music terms.

Big selling albums from David Bowie, Fleetwood Mac, Pink Floyd, Bob Marley, Steely Dan, Meat Loaf, ELO combined with debut albums from Tom Petty, Blondie, Television, Talking Heads, Sex Pistols, The Clash.

So did you stay with the old guard or make the jump across to new music.

So what was your favourite album at the time and do you still play it regularly.

Mine is My Aim Is True, the Elvis Costello debut which I still enjoy.

Would say Panini Football '77 but they didn't start until '78 (my first one was '79)

They were producing albums (including English leagues) before then in various formats. I think early 1978 was the first full album with proper modern stickers.

I remember there being an album where you glued the sticker in with the player bio on the back.

Tricky one this. The Damned came in with a banger, but heavily influenced by the Detroit Sound. The Jam, despite their Mod look, had what to me looked like a seedy punk rock cover with spray paint on the toilet wall. The Stranglers on the back of Peaches probably created a strong soundtrack of 1977 for me. Clash, well say no more. Probably the purest punk rock album of 1977. I listen to all these albums now, but the one I listen to the most is still Never Mind The Bollocks.
