My school benefited yesterday from AITC. For a very reasonable fee, they put on a health and wellbeing training day for a group of pupils and I must say, the teacher involved was spot on, likeable and his materials have helped the children's knowledge greatly in this area. I was pretty proud of the club.

Just amazing the transformation the club has gone through in a relatively short period of time , those that worked tirelessly to drag the club from near extinction to where the club is today should be very proud of all their efforts , the fans old and new have to a degree also played their part , as Shoeless Joe Jackson said , if you build it , they will come .
No way. Him De Vecchi, Cuttress, and all the other scumbags who opposed us will never admit they got it wrong. And I don't want them to. A cheery "Sorry" won't begin to make up for everything they put us through.

Yes the new fan has played their part, but the footings and the steelwork was all done by the 'originals'.
Bloom is a god in his own right for supporting and directing and mentoring the build.

Of which £150M went to the club itself, who spent most of this on transfer fees and players' wages. It's brilliant to see how far the club has come but stating £212M is in the local economy is hugely misleading.

This is a very good argument, and transparency is important. However, the club do mention that they the 4th largest employer in the region, so hopefully a lot of that money will filter down to local residents and the broader local economy (albeit very indirectly).
Fair point......but decent part of that would then be, for example, Dunky spending what must have been an absolute fortune on his house in Hurst, I bet using mostly local tradesmen.

Regardless, that’s still £62m sloshing around the local economy. That’s £62m/£212m that would not have been available if the NIMBYs, naysayers, LibDems and other assorted opponents had won their argument. Humble pie to all of them - with lots gristle.

The 4th largest employer statement is an interesting one too. I assume this is based on number of employees and not gross income of all employees (excluding playing staff). I would guess a large proportion is for match-day staff who would earn relatively small sums.
Don't get me wrong, I think it's brilliant what the club have achieved and are continuing to progress, but I hate these kind of statements.
