Play has started already with Darren Clarke scoring a birdie on the first. Sussex amateur, Thomas Thurloway, parred the first, good luck to him Today.

It looks a wide open Open to me and I can't be having Rory as I think the pressure of playing at home will be too much for him and he's not got the job done in a major for a while now.

For avoidance of aftertiming I've backed plenty at various prices: Brooks Koepke, Jon Rahm, Tiger Woods, Henrik Stenson, Xander Schauffle, Franny Molinari, Phil Mickelson, Graeme McDowell, Matt Wallace and Matt Kuchar.

It should be a great week especially as there's plenty of dodgy weather forecast. Wall to wall coverage on Sky Sports, looking forward to a busy four days in front of the action.

I've backed Clarke (£1e/w at 300/1). Poulter and Ricky because I always do. Plus a saver on Brooks, £4 e/w.

Odds on Sergio were tempting though.

Love The Open!

Main pick is Jon Rahm
Too long since an Englishman won (Faldo 92) and Tommy Fleetwood fits the bill
Dustin Johnson should be thereabouts too

Agree with most of you. I’ve gone Koepka at 11, Rose at 22, Stenson and Molinari at 28, Fleetwood at 30, and Poulter at 75.
Paying 8 places on 365.

Rory is in self destruct mode.
He could be out of the Championship by the end of today at this rate.
