Steve Wright being fifth is an utter nonsense. I'd happily go and be massively unfunny on the radio for a few hours for half that.

To be fair there's a lot of talent on that list. And then there's Shearer and Crooks....

Those are the only two I was a little bewildered by.

When Alan Shearer and Garth Crooks earn more than Laura Kuessenberg the women still have a case.

Ant and Dec reportedly made £29.5m
X-Factor's Dermot O'Leary is said to have made £3m
Kay Burley reportedly at £500k

Sky News are all over this, but don’t appear to be publishing their salaries.

My thoughts too, not sure how or why Shearer earns more than Gabby Logan for example.

They always do, shite stirring.

But it's their commercial income to do with as they please.

The BBC's income is a public tax to all intents, hence the furore and interest.

Agree.

That said, for 43p a day it’s not much to pay for the BBC. And that belongs to us, not to Mr Murdoch, Bezos or Zuckerberg. But they’d love to do away with it if they had half the chance.

I never moan about the licence fee. I rarely watch ITV as it has so much crap, bar the odd drama or their ITV4 Tour de France coverage.

I saw an advert for ITVBe the other week. It was like looking through a portal into hell.

Of the top 11 I'm only satisfied Graham Norton gets my licence fee money.

Sums it up really, I don’t like Graham Norton, but, there are others in the top 10 I do like, and the BBC has to cater for all license payers. That’s a very difficult job, and not one they will ever please everyone with.

Whats with the range upt and additional £4,999?

Is there some sort of optional Christmas bonus?

Am I missing something?

Public sector salary data is always released in ranges like that, so not to give exact salaries - this goes for a department having (e.g.) 26 Grade AA admin staff on £13,000 - £14,999, just the same as the top ranks.
