Not seen the film myself but reviews suggest that plenty of location 'shot's' in and around Brighton in the early 1960,s ?

well worth a watch.

Directed by the great Val Guest who had an interesting career including....

British Sci Fi classics, "The Quatermass Experiment", "Quatermass II" and "The Day The Earth Caught Fire".
Forgotten classic war films, "The Camp On Blood Island" and "Yesterday's Enemy"
"Mr Drake's Duck", the best film ever about a duck that lays uranium eggs (filmed in Sussex)
"Casino Royale"

finished his career with 'Confessions of A Window Cleaner' and Cannon and Ball movie vehicle, 'The Boys In Blue' ... both of which he also wrote.

Sorry no screenshot of poster advertising Albion fixtures (near police station) but here is the murder house at Peacehaven caravan park:

Not much different now but has lost its chimneys:

Curiously, there is a trailer for the recently remastered film but I can't work out how you can see the full version:

Jigsaw is on again tonight, but 18:55 on Talking Pictures so ignore the time on the thread header as it's an old thread.

Channel 81 on Freeview.

A murder case in Brighton in 1962; that's the year I left school there.

Well, Hove, actually.

If, like me, you haven't seen it, now's your chance

Knew I knew the face of the lead actor. Step forward a very young Grouty (frm Porridge)!
Strewth - and now rhe barman from 'Minder' has shown up as well!

Interesting they moved Hellingly station about 10 or 15 miles nearer to Beachy Head - and apparantly electrified the cuckoo line just for the film!
