Boris Johnson would deliver a 40-seat majority for Tories in an election, new poll shows

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/politic...uld-deliver-40-seat-majority-tories-election/

Just imagine the reaction on here if this poll turned out to be vaguely accurate .... :lolol::eek::shootself

I am only posting this to show that polls are all over the place (take your pick) and the one thing I would bet my house on is that whatever actually emerges in a GE will look nothing like whatever the polls are saying now.

Has anyone checked out Piers Morgan vs Matt Hancock on ITV This Morning?

I haven't seen a politician dodge the question repeatedly like that (Kim Darroch - stay or go?) since Paxman vs Michael Howard on Newsnight.

Whatever they're covering up they've done a great job keeping people off the scent the past couple of years

Thanks for that, pity the Telegraph is behind the Channel Islands offshore pay wall.

Also from Comres

LAB: 28% (+1)
CON: 25% (+2)
BREX: 19% (-3)
LDEM: 16% (-1)
GRN: 5% (-)
UKIP: 1% (-)

Interesting to see what Labour's change of position does to their fortunes.

Judging by the reaction to this resignation by Senior Tories I don't think BoJo is going to last 5 minutes.

He won't - he's only ever a breath away from a career-ending gaffe - it's only a matter of time. Whiff Whaff is coming home..................:)

Quite how as a country we have such a pisspoor selection of potential/aspiring leaders (from all sides) is beyond belief really.

I think it's partly because our democracy isn't fit for purpose. The two traditional leading parties have been able to take votes for granted for decades - general elections are decided by a handful of key marginals really. I also think people are quite disengaged with politicians, which is why a complete charlatan is likely to take control of the country shortly. People clap like seals at his "optimistic" drivel instead of taking apart his opinions.

And he'll be opposed by a dogmatic, non-pragmatic socialist without a cat in hell's chance of winning a GE.
