Rawlins got a pair in his last game but, before that, he scored two half-centuries and two forties in seven innings - that's scarcely dismal. Haines hasn't been great but did score a century a month ago

Elsewhere in the division, Jimmy Anderson (with Graham Onions) has absolutely destroyed Derbyshire.

Sir Jimmy's figures; 1st inn 17/7/18/5, 2nd inn 16/6/29/4. Nine wickets for 47 runs, at an economy rate of 1.4. What a bowler he still is.

Onions himself took 3 for 19, and 5 for 38.

17 wickets for 104 between them!

Usually when the oppo start scoring freely , Wells comes on to bowl 4 or 5 overs and takes a couple of wickets , that time maybe soon approaching .
