The wonderful citizens of the UK, per capita, give more money to charity than any other country in the world, it's no wonder all major charity events are held here. But isn't it about time more countries were as generous as this brow beaten population of our Isles?

Generous - yes
Brow beaten - mostly
All major charity events - absolutely not
Other countries pulling their weight - you better believe it

It's the generosity of people, everywhere, that never ceases to amaze. The UK is not alone in this.

We’re not according to any reports I’ve seen.

I don't know who Jeremy Lynch is, but his second goal was a cracker.

Bolt's goal was well taken too.

Looks like we're heading for penalties as Eric Cantona sets up a bloke who was on Love Island two years ago to make it 2-2.

New Zealand are on top, unsurprisingly

1% of the people who watch this match donate.
So not that wonderful, and another who thinks that we are so much better than anyone else.

I think the official stats actually show the USA is a far more generous country for charity donations per capita. Although there is a school of thought that their statistics are distorted by including donations from people to the Church of their choice......
