[Albion] RIP Trelford Mills - as much a part of the 83 Cup run as anyone.

Reports said that he needed to have a police escort out of St James after the game. Great Photo.

Cheers for that. So the second disallowed goal was a Waddle header to Keegan who flicked it into the far corner. Some Newcastle fans seemed to think Mills had it in for them, judging by the comments attached to the You Tube video.

My geordie mate will not stop banging on about it even now. Every time we play. Every time.

Some nice things written about him.

Was obviously well liked.

RIP

We'd count Trelford Mills as a friend. He looked after us wonderfully on our weekend in Barnsley during the promotion season and previously came to the Amex when his hometown team played the Albion. He had been ill for a while but was so fit we liked to think he would put his illness behind him. He spent his life in Barnsley and had a huge affection for the place, some of which rubbed off on us. I doubt that anyone knew as much about what made Barnsley tick as him. An absolute gent.

The Mods are wading in and who can blame them given the OP’s history. Strange man.

Forgive my ignorance but who is he and what was his role in our cup run?
Referee in the Newcastle game. If you want to support illiterate gibbering masquerading as journalism, you can find a story by someone who definitely isn't the OP on a two bit website run by a failed Argus journo along with other failed Argus journos. It might make your eyes bleed with the use of commas so I won't link to it.

So Timmy what's it like being a local councillor? oh, sorry forgot you didn't win, you managed to lose all 3 seats from a fairly safe position and now you come back here not only a failed journo but a failed politician as well
