Yes I agree with you.I think its true to say that most people I know either love Springsteen or dislike him intensly,I've met very few who don't have strong views.I think people either buy the working class hero he paints or they don't, because as much as I like him it is all he has.
Doesn't bother me greatly what people think, any more than it bothers me what other football fans think about the Albion.
Anyway, here's what he says at the start of the Broadway show:
"I've never held an honest job in my entire life. I've never done any hard labour.I've never worked 9 to 5. I've never worked 5 days a week (until right now). I don't like it. I've never seen the inside of a factory, yet it's all I've ever written about. Standing before you is a man who has become wildly and absurdly successful writing about something about which he has had absolutely no personal experience. I made it all up. That's how good I am."

Yes, I guess so. The track BTR is not my favourite on the album though. Jungleland, tenth avenue freeze out, night, thunder road and backstreets beat it for me.
Just listening to the newish Gong album my son bought me for my 61st. Gong still good without Daevid Allen. Who knew?
