[TV] What could the BBC do to cut costs or bring in more money

Without affecting the viewing pleasure.
What would you like to see go.
Should they advertise or go for product placement.
I also think that for the 80k plus earners with multiple very expensive TV's should pay double the fee.
What do you think?

The bbc shouldn't really do anything. This is shifting the blame for what is essentially a tax tory increase. Here's what should happen,Tory leadership candidates instead of promising massive tax cuts for the wealthy should promise to pay for the free license fees for the over 75's. The whole things stinks as a tory scheme to undermine support for the bbc.

As an ex- pat I would happily pay a Netflix sized monthly subscription to access the BBCs rich content but there is no option. A missed opportunity in my opinion.

They need to build their relationship with the big players such as Amazon Prime, Netflix and Disney and Apple when they enter the market.

subscription overseas is the obvious answer, but the Beeb seem reluctant even obstructive to this, presumably fearing they become seen as a commercial operation. i read a industry analyst view they could make more than the entire TV licensing revenue this way, so could abolish it altogether.

What about people who earn less than £30K and have multiple very expensive TVs? Should they pay more?

Page 66 of the Tory manifesto promises to keep free prescriptions, protect the old age pension, and free tv licenses for over 75s.
Another broken promise, just so they can bribe the more wealthy with tax cuts.

Absolutely this I wrote to my MP yesterday saying the same the Torys exhibit the most unpleasant side of capitalism and fully deserve the Nasty Party tag

I'd definitely pay for an overseas subscription too and have bemoaned the fact it's not available for years. It just means I have view any BBC output in other ways.

There's not a lot of point trying to protect free access for the over 75s if you take most of their programmes away.

It's totally a political issue as the BBC funding is made up of programs they sell to other broadcasters which balanced against the cost of buying broadcasts production by others which leaves the BBCs funding comes exclusively from our taxes and I want more money from taxes going into the BBC and less into funding vanity projects such as payments to the DUP, funding companies to provide ships when they had no ships, funding to refurbished the Houses of Parliament which is beyond refurbishment and should be handed over to the National Trust as a museum, funding landowners who have millions already just because they have land I could go on, it's completely political
