(Sitting on the) Dock of the Bay - the late GREAT king of soul music - Otis Redding! For my money the best soul voice ever! Dock of the Bay by no means his best song but still great and plenty of whistling at the end

"Whistle daughter whistle", Val Doonican. From an EP my Nan gave me when I was about 8. I think it was called 'The green shades of Val Doonican'.

Blimey, I haven't thought about that record for nearly 50 years until I saw this thread.

Always makes me grin when I see Val Doonican's name.
I used to have a punk mate named Neil who had an amazing collection of ripped jumpers, we used to cal him Val Hooligan.
