Not much to get the juices flowing there. I thought you were joking and this was last years.

Oh for another Portugal trip !

Yes I remember well the pre-season tour to Portugal prior to the 1988/89 season, (or was it 1989/90?), anyway, nearly banned from the Supporters Club as a result of that l was!

Confirmed pre-season fixtures so far:

Saturday 13th July - Pre-season tour friendly (opponent and KO TBC)
Friday 19th July - Crawley Town v Brighton & Hove Albion (7.45pm)
Saturday 20th July - Fulham v Brighton & Hove Albion (3pm)
Saturday 27th July - Birmingham City v Brighton & Hove Albion (3pm)
Friday 2nd August - Home friendly at the Amex Stadium (opponent and KO TBC)

Could have had Gillingham & Stevenage in there to spice it up a bit. Underwhelming.

I wonder if we'll do as poorly as last time we tried this.

Excellent. Will be at the 2 Friday night games - Crawley is nice and easy for me on a weekday, and a Friday evening Amexer sounds good as well.

Can't remember the last time I bothered going to a friendly, I've not been to one since we moved to the Amex. The meltdowns on here are always good fun though.

Waste of time energy and money, it’s like going to football but not really.

Tend to agree though I do like it when we play against sides like Hastings, Eastbourne B/T/U, Hailsham, Lewes or any local non-league side, at their ground.

I'm pretty sure I saw Bruno make his Albion debut at Hastings. And Stafford Browne make his at Hailsham.

Appears like a lot of that would've been arranged/booked a couple of months ago with Hughton still in charge.

Next year will be interesting to see whether Potter does anything different.

Agreed. Paying to watch players going through the motions in a training session, its all a bit of a yawn.

The only potentially redeeming feature is the social aspect, a few beers in the sunshine at a noddy ground somewhere, but I can have more fun doing that in a pub garden or down the seafront. I certainly wouldn't drag myself along to the Amex for a friendly, regardless who we are playing.

Quite like it when we've got new players in the team as friendlies offer the first chance to see them in action.

Not sure about Bruno’s debut but I certainly recall Vicente having a run out at The Pilot Field. Shame there’s no fixtures planned against Hastings and Lewes this preseason.

Hmmm, my son will be playing football at the K2, finishing an hour before the Crawley match. Can I convince my wife that him staying up for it is a good idea...?

Fulham, Birmingham and the home game will be worth a look to see how the players are adapting to GP’s style of play.
