    Potter's players

With the little that we know about the new gaffer which of the current squad are under most pressure and who’s likely to fall by the wayside?

For me gp likes a dynamic midfield. And that’s the area I can see getting a total upheaval baring Stephens who I think will do well with runners around him. I can see them all being shipped out for various reasons propper to Ajax kayal not good enough. I can see him wanting to build the team around bissouma the back 4 seems settled as long as we keep dunk and replace (hehe) Bruno and I can see 2 of the wingers going with 2 new James hopefully and another at the expense of whoever he don’t thinks up to it I’m hoping he can get a tune out of locadia otherwise I fear three new strikers will be needed possibly two if one of Connolly and gyokeres can step up with Murray’s influence waining throughout the season.

I’m hoping that 2-3 u23s players will get game time too the two names above along with sanders Walton Sanchez and cochrane seem most likely currently.

    What say you nsc?

I would like to see not too much change in the squad personnel, and a lot of change in their performances, I don't think we have bought as badly as many seem to think. I am hoping for a Poyet like transformation to the team, without the massive ego and talk of how wonderful Leeds Utd are.
There will of course need to be a new right back, but Murray is the biggest question mark for me as to whether Potter sees him fitting in, purely on energy level. I am sure two or three players that have been given a hard time on these pages are going to shine next season.

I’m inclined to agree in regard to their quality but he’s obviously going to want to bring 3-4-5 of his own type in or promote from within so that will naturally lead to some not getting any game time. If he goes for James one winger will need to go and who would be very difficult for me to say as they all have very good qualities
Truth be known the only area I can see him really getting stuck into is cm which is our weakest area by some way we obviously need a right back and unless matusz (sc) comes back from his loan spell ready to go we’re going to need to buy one

I think that one of the reasons Graham Potter has been brought in is because he appears to be a motivational specialist and able to work with an existing team, on a budget.

I don't think that there'll be a wholesale change of players, more an attitude of "Here's the players we've spent money on, some of whom haven't fulfilled their potential yet. Get the best out of them that you can."

I believe that there are likely to be one or two "budget" purchases but on the whole it'll be last season's newly (Potter) motivated squad, with a few tweaks.

      This.
I believe Tony's frustration at CH was primarily around the lack of performance he was getting out of £130m worth of spend.

The player who will lose out most....
Got to be Glenn hasn't it?

I sincerely hope that Glenn remains at the club as I'm sure he has a role to play.
It just won't be as the starting striker anymore.

Aside from the U23s you mention, we also have Baluta, Mac Allister, and Mlakar joining up with the squad, hopefully.

That's 2 midfielders and a striker - all still U21 and none of which would count towards the 25 - and it may just aid recruitment.
Out of contract June 2020 : Bong, Balogun, Hemed, Kayal, Murray, Schelotto, Suttner

A new RB, CM, Winger and Striker plus replacing any who want to leave. We won't have Izquierdo until the new year so we may keep all our wingers until then even after 1 more arrives. Should be an interesting summer

In yesterday’s press conference GP said he doesn’t expect a hectic summer in the transfer market - I would like to think that will be because he will look to buy quality rather than quantity with the budget he has available with no more than 4 players coming in (Right Back / Centre Mid / Striker and either a CAM or winger). Assuming he doesn’t lose any existing key players.

TBH i cant see it being that interesting.
If IF everything is ok this upcoming season, 12 months time we will be in for an interesting window.

None of thr newbies got their current jobs by saying 'all your players are shite, if you want me it'll cost you another £120m in rebuild', Mr Bloom didnt employ 'arry.

In 12 months time that could be a very different story.

It's entirely possible only a replacement for Bruno will be needed.
A new Murray might already be with the club, a little bit of tinkering and a bit of work permit 'luck' then the window could be slammed shut.

I’m hoping our speed of play will increase and our decision making improves markedly, if he can improve both areas we should notice a vast improvement.
Thru thick & thin, we'll support you evermore
