Man Utd have put a £70m bid in for Maguire - will this start the predicted merry go round?

Almost certainly. Could go to the wire though. On deadline day someone needs to kidnap Dunk and Duffy.

Dunk is a Chelsea fan, so he might ...

Don’t be a dinlo. The source is a Chelsea fan, so what!? I am a Brighton fan, does that make me a good source for any player who happens to be a Brighton fan!? [emoji1782]

Maybe the SAUCE was Dunk himself... ???

Maybe it could be a triangular deal, like what we had in 1980...

Albion -> Peter Ward -> Forest
Forest -> Garry Birtles -> Man Utd
Man Utd -> Andy Ritchie -> Albion

Albion -> Lewis Dunk -> Leicester
Leicester -> Harry Maguire -> Man Utd
Man Utd -> ?? ?? ?? -> Albion

No thanks! I wouldn't want to sell Dunk to Leicester for less than a third of what thy get for Maguire - which is exactly how much Clough stuffed us in 1980.

The Albion can justifiably be proud of polishing any turd into a quality centre back.
But I think a turd from the current Utd line up is asking too much, even for us.

Like some of our players he is a good striker who was played in the wrong position at United. Good players, as he was at Arsenal, do not suddenly become bad.

They do if their attitude goes, 300k a week and what did he do at Arsenal? Definitely a continental player who is blatantly unhappy in England.

Disregarding the financial side wouldnt you take Alexis Sanchez on loan for a season?

No. Partly because you can’t disregard the financial side and having a player in the dressing room who earns 300k a week (whether us or Utd is paying it) would be disruptive. And honestly, I think he’s a shadow of his former self. Players who rely on intensity tend to decline faster than those whose game was always a bit slower (eg Pirlo).

Worked okay with Wayne Bridge they all seemed to get along with him even though he was on about 100k

No South American or Southern European native wants to spend time in the Manchester climate. London is just about doable for most and the wages go a long way, but Manchester no. Swap Spain's climate with Manchester, and United and City would suddenly usurp Real and Barca as the world's most popular footballing destination for players.
