I think Tony via reporting “close to the club” has made the Dunk position pretty clear. He doesn’t want to sell, doesn’t need to sell and he’s unusually put a figure out there to scare off suitors - £45m+
Anyway here we are - a week to go and Maguire isn’t sold, and reporting suggests that Leicester are clear , for weeks now, that Dunk isn’t on their radar.

Sorry, I just don’t buy that.
Dunk clearly is on their radar depending on which newspaper you read. And leaving aside all this 3 at the back stuff why is our main transfer target another centre half?
Utd signing Maguire (who is reported as wanting to go) will set off a chain of signings as Leicester will get a lot of money.
I’m not saying he will definitely leave, but this will go to the wire.

Where I think Maguire excels, and why we might be looking at Webster too, is their confidence travelling with the ball out from the back. I think Maguire is actually exceptional at this and underrated in that respect. His skill and confidence on the ball in tight spots and being happy to take the ball passed a man does single him out from his contemporaries.
I think that is what a team like ManUtd are looking for, and why perhaps Potter, despite having Dunk, Duffy, Burn, Balogun and Clarke in the squad currently, might prize someone like Webster, because it could really add to his tactical flexibility. 1 or 2 of them can always go on loan if Potter is really keen on Webster in the side.

Dunk has certainly not been throwing his toys out of the pram, I would anticipate that their might be an agreement that if a top six club came in for him then he would be allowed to leave if everyone was happy with the deal. I wouldn’t deny him that, he has been simply outstanding for our club and part of me wants to see him reach the heights, Ostigard, White and Clarke as well as Webster if we sign him also offer great future players for us.

Dunk can do that too, and from what I have seen has better feet than Maguire, he just hasn't been allowed to in the PL thus far. If Potter allows more freedom for players to use initiative, we will see it, if he stays. I would have said Maguire has the slight edge on Dunk in the air, there is a comparison here on a few different aspects of their game.
Difficult to read too much into some of it due to the different styles of play between Leicester and Brighton last season, but I don't see £35 million quid of improvement from Dunk to Maguire, even if I would agree that Maguire is a slightly better all round central defender.

And there you have it. Some papers have copied and pasted stories from rival papers without even calling anyone at the club to try to stand them up but somehow that means Dunk is definitely on Leicester's radar.

Well, we've watched Dunk under 4 different managers over 9 seasons, and I can't say I've seen what you've seen to say he's up to the standard of Maguire bringing the ball out, but that is just all down to opinion I guess really. I'm not saying Dunk is bad at it, he's pretty good, but as said I think Maguire is particuarly good at it.

Well, nobody can 100% guarantee, but I trust the 95% certain to stay estimate that our club shared with our local newspaper far more than the already-looking-stupid Leicester Mercury...

A guy at work told me today that Lewis Dunk was on holiday at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel in Dubai at the same time as him this summer. He reckons that, from conversations that he overheard in the bar in the evening, Lewis will be leaving in this transfer window.
