What happened to the 'game theory' thread which has mysteriously disappeared since Watford lost 0-6 yesterday . It was suggesting that Watford was the way to go in terms of attacking football, long term planning etc. Look where that got them. It makes our 0-1 defeat in the semi -final respectable and a vindication of Hughton's tactics .
Not sure I'm one of the gung ho brigade vs the top 6 . Might just work against the rest and be more entertaining but there will be hiccups . Potter will definitely have to live up to the suggestion that he can vary tactics according to circumstances or we will be relegated to a division that is notoriously hard to get out of and cost Tony millions.

Is it really a fair comparison? When they played us they played a "weakened" team because they were still vying for the champions league (in fact had a championship match v Tottenham a few days later), still competing for the premier league title.

Against Watford all they had was that match. A strong team, going for it without restraint, without concern over getting an injury or saving themselves for Tuesday. In the league (when they had longer term concerns than just that match itself) v Watford it was 2-1 and 3-1 - much closer affairs.
