Apologies if fixtures, but various reports suggesting that West Brom have already lined up Hughton as their next manager. He's to be interviewed next week apparently.

We know such a good manager wouldn't stay out of work for long, but two days is rather impressive.

The timing was excellent for both parties. We get to bring someone in early to plan for next season, Hughton will have the pick of jobs from this years play off failures.

It was the next logical move for him. The core of the squad is very good, it's not a difficult job. All he really needs to do is get them organised and settle the team down. They have a big squad, packed with loan players. He's got a bit of work to do there, but it's a far easier job than he's inherited previously.

Let's hope his first piece of business is to snap up Knockaert and Bong in a £15million double deal!

Edited for you

Maybe he told Tony he was off after the game on Sunday, but Tony got in first and gave him the boot :jester:

I genuinely wish him all the best if this is true. He WILL get them out of the Championship imo.

Knocky to WBA?

I am a big fan of Bong, but you have to say it would be quite funny if he went to West Brom. Jay Rodriguez and their fans would self combust.

I'd love it if Chris Hughton went to WBA with Darren Moore as his assistant and Paul Nevin as coach? That would shut a few know nothing journo's up?

According to this piece in the Telegraph he might have a bit of work to do in the squad re-building department...

West Brom are preparing for a second season outside the Premier League and are expecting a summer of changes, with a number of players set to be sold.

Jay Rodriguez, Craig Dawson, Ahmed Hegazi, Matt Phillips, Jake Livermore and Kieran Gibbs could all leave, after pledging their futures to the club for an extra year last summer.

Loan stars Dwight Gayle, Jacob Murphy, Mason Holgate, Stefan Johansen, Jefferson Montero and Tosin Adarabioyo will also return to their parent clubs.

Albion sources insist money will be spent, however, as they target young hungry players to build a new squad capable of a promotion challenge.

How the mighty have fallen etc.....
I would not want one of those players.
Loan ‘stars’, really?

If his first move is to slap down Jay Rodriguez and force him out then I might even have to support them in the Championship next season.
