I was very saddened to hear the news about Chris yesterday, he will always be revered as an Albion legend for what he has achieved, but sadly the results and performances don’t lie and it felt inevitable - nobody in the football world would have survived that run of form (3 wins in 23 games) and the performances that went with it. Let’s be honest, we crawled over the line because of Cardiff’s inability to get the results they needed against Fulham & Palace.

But Chris isn’t likely to be out of work for very long and I think there is a ready made job there waiting for him at West Brom (regardless of whether they go up through the play-offs or not). Failing that, I think the Celtic job would be another potential destination for him.

Good luck wherever you end up next Chris and thank you for everything you’ve done for our club. A true gentlemen of the footballing world. UTA !

The smart money seems to be going on the Celtic job.

Bit of a come down for our Chris!

I hope he takes a long break from the game, has some holidays and relaxes. Despite his cool demeanour, he would have felt the immense pressure all managers endure.

Totally agree.

I recommend a Caribbean cruise.

Bah humbug! Chris needs to jump right back into it. It was the BHA owners who screwed up by sacking him when he did everything he could with the players he was given. He never once allowed the club to be relegated.

Why is there talk of him going to Celtic? I don't see that at all. If I were Chairman of a Championship club, I would do anything to get him in.

Champions League football and the opportunity to win trophies - up to 60,000 at home games - it was a long way to fall

Looks like Middlesbrough are dumping Pulis - Hughton is going to be in high demand.

Saying that - he may bide his time and wait to see if a Premiership job opens up.

Hopefully CH will put football to one side, enjoy the summer months with his family, and come back ready to go again - if that's what he wants - sometime in the autumn. Wishing him nothing but well. The man is a class act

Agreed.
Plus, he was paid up to 2021 so no pressure!

Pedant alert.

If he went to Celtic it will be a Premiership job, if he waits for a job in the top English division, it will be a PREMIER LEAGUE job.

Sorry.

Exactly.

If I had another 2 years worth of wages being deposited in my bank account for doing the square root of fook all, then thats exactly what I'd do. 2 years of Netflix box sets, long lay-ins, midweek afternoon pub sessions, Frankie & Bennys, Ladbrokes, cricket one-dayers, porn, golf, tattoo parlours, all day benders, tenpin bowling, babestation, crack cocaine, The Chase, metal detecting...

A couple of years of heaven basically. Might be in a bit of a state by the end of it, but man what a ride.

Most people like to work (indeed need to work) - and someone on the dole would bite your hand off for a decent job.
