Fantastic player & man, if you want a role model, he's the man. Sounds like he will be staying in some off the field capacity too. Good news

His Instagram post for anyone that hasn't seen it/can't access it. Got some dust in my eye.

When I was a kid, I said to my dad: -I want to be the best football player in the world!
He giggled and said -‘Chase your Dream and Share your passion’.
So I’ve worked hard for that, every single day of my life.
This Sunday will be my last game as a professional football player; in the right place at the right life time, at Amex.
I feel grateful and honored to have being part of J.E. Flix, Olímpic Móra D’Ebre, Club Athlètic Segre, U.E. Lleida, R.C.D. Espanyol, Gimnàstic de Tarragona, U.D. Almería, Valencia C.F. and my Greatest love; Brighton and Hove Albion Football Club.
New country, new language, new way to play football, the same Dream and a Promotion to reach the Premier League. We did it the only way you can achieve anything ; TOGETHER!
Thanks to the amazing Seagull fans, to ALL the Staff in the club, to BHAFC Community, to my coaches, to my teammates (forever my family), to the City of Brighton and Hove and to my Family and Friends... for all your LOVE!
You got me. I’ve got you all.
I’ll be there always for you BHAFC. See you very soon!
Love,
Vuestro AMIGO, Bruno.

ooof! that got me.

Great player, great man, great servant to and ambassador for the club. I hope that we retain his services in some capacity for many years to come. Good luck and very best wishes for whatever he goes on to do.

Gus’s greatest gift to the Albion - King Bruno.

Favourite ever player to don the blue and white stripes, and that’s all that needs to be said.

Hope he gets subbed just before the end so he can take the spotlight as we all stand as one to applaud his long slow walk off the pitch

Just watched his interview on the website...he really is a complete class act. Such a gentleman and a great human being. Love that he thought it funny his daughter was more worried that she might not get to walk out with him on Sunday as he'd retired.. (she didn't realise he retired after the game)...

Got back this evening to hear the sad news - I thought he'd go on for another season, but it wasn't to be.

What a player; what a man. There won't be many dry eyes in the house on Sunday.

(with apologies to Walt Whitman)
O Captain! My Captain! our season’s nearly done;
The team has weather'd every rack, the prize we sought is won;
The end is near, the cheers I hear, the people all exulting,
While follow eyes eleven men, with faces grim and daring:
But O heart! heart! heart!
What tears are these that fall?
It’s time to face the Captain’s end
Knowing he’s given all

(I know he's not dead but it's still something to grieve)

Wouldn't we just love it if we were able to witness an absolute worldie from our legend on Sunday, wouldn't that just top it all off

El Capitan :bowdown::albion:

This is like losing Calderon all over again

This is worse than Calde.

I can’t remember the last time I’ve felt genuinely GUTTED that a player is retiring. What a man, what a player.

Bruno is and will always be part of our football club.

Am I right in thinking we essentially signed Bruno to be vicentes mate?
