I went to the funeral yesterday of former Lewes manager Ray Smith - I suspect a fair few on here have met him over the years.
Ray captained England schoolboys in the 1960s, and was on the books at the Albion shortly after (as well as Millwall and Notts County). He then taught at Collyer's in Horsham for nearly 50 years.
A remarkable man - self-effacing, mischievous and a source of inspiration for many who crossed his path.
RIP Ray.
