Just to let anyone thinking of travelling on the M23 - there’s been a 3 car pile up on the Southbound carriageway - air ambulance - motorway closed.

Traffic around here is chaotic.

The accident happened at 3.50pm, with the resulting southbound jam still stretching 10 miles.

I do not miss working in Three Bridges one little bit...The accident sounds nasty sadly and relatively common...

Heard about this as I got in my car close to Junction 3 of M3 at 6pm.

Did the M3(S)/M27/A27 route back instead of the M3(N)/M25/M23/A23 - quite pleasant if a bit long - wasnt sure if it was a good move but sounds like it was. Prefer to be moving rather than sat in traffic

I just managed to get away with it too. Left Stratford at 4pm and sat nav alerted me to it shortly before junction 6 so was able to head down on the A22/A26. Actually made a nice change and wasn't busy either.

How many crashes have there been in those roadworks already? It's an absolute disaster for changes that weren't required in the first place. Was seconds from being taken out in a 4 vehicle crash a couple of weeks back.
