[Albion] knee jerk reaction - U23s

I know it's a long term project and players need time, blah, blah, blah but what has the U23 set up contributed to the club other than being a massive overhead?

The regime allows 3 (I think) over 23s to play, yet I can't remember the last time a senior player played for them. OK, last night's match at Everton was too close to tonight but surely the likes of Bruno, Kayal, Burn, Bong, (and maybe Gross, Ali, Jose if fit) would have benefited from playing matches rather than just training.

Not one player from the U23s is in with a sniff of being in the first team

Any two of Alzate, Molumby and Sanders could easily replace Stephens and Propper on current form.

Stephens & Pröpper certainly need a rest, Bissouma is too much of a risk to play alongside Kayal in a Midfield 2 on Saturday though.

Hughton must really not think much of the U23’s if only Gyokeres can get anywhere near our first team given how s*** we’ve been and that was only really for Cup games too.
