This game on the 16th April surely has to be the relegation clincher in my eyes, simply have to pack the Amex out and get right behind the lads to send Warnock and his Welsh lambs back to the Championship where they belong.

Reality. Cautious, frail Albion fail to convert and Cardiff score via a long throw and offside bobbler on 90 +4 despite only 3 minutes being shown by the fourth official.

Meanwhile in his postmatch comments CH says “we must show better quality in the final third”

NSC goes into actual meltdown.

The Albion still survive on GD.

Is this Groundhog Day?

Didn't we have this thread 7 days ago, closely followed by a meek and mild AMEX with a non-performance from the entire team.

Cardiff were unlucky and looked good vs Chelsea (highlights) Let's hope we do the business for this one.

Not so....easy to see how Cardiff will get at least a point from this fixture and possibly all 3 because they will play in a way and with a will, an agression and a physicality that we are simply unable to combat. There will also be a defining moment in the game (probably a questionable penalty call awarded to us or something similar) that will have Colin Wanker and his players going apoplectic but which, because of the brouhaha, we will miss. Bournemouth and Newcastle are the more likely sources of points from our remaining games IMHO.

Too early to say.

Need to wait until after the Albion v Bournemouth and Burnley v Cardiff games on April 13th - and then look at the table.

Burnley v Cardiff is 3 days before... that's the bigger game. Burnley absolutely have to win the game, as their final 4 games after that are a nightmare. Cardiff will put in maximum effort to get something there, and then have a nice long journey to Brighton. Meanwhile, we have a nice home game against Bournemough... Handy that we're playing Cardiff second really

My ticket will be on the exchange for this one.

It's a Must Not Lose. Win and we're pretty much home and hosed. A draw and we stay the same: we're one step nearer the finish line, and they're one step nearer to running out of runway. A defeat ... well a defeat and frankly we deserve to go down (although we still might survive).

To misquote Taffy slightly (for long-time NSC users) "The big day is here and we'll settle for a poxy point"

Very good point. That will be a proper battle, hopefully a suitably card happy ref will be appointed.

So here's how it plays out:

1. We steal a point tonight, and they lose to City (6 points head, Cardiff with six to play)
2. We beat Bournemouth and Cardiff lose to Burnley (9 points head, Cardiff with five to play)
3. We beat Cardiff (12 points ahead with 4 to play BUT given the goal difference we would be safe)

Simples
