Minnesota Twins are absolutely KILLING it this season, yet another crushing victory last night 16-7 at the Angels to go 33-16, .673 and 17 games above .500, stretching an 8 game lead over the Indians in the ALC.

They last hit 8 home runs in a game back in 1963, 56 years ago. They've now just gone and done it TWICE in 5 weeks, following a 16-7 rout in Baltimore last month.

They've become only the 2nd team in MLB history to hit multiple 8-homer games in a season (along with the Rangers). They've smashed 98 homers in 49 games.

This is so weird. The Twins are usually shithouse, now its like I've suddenly started supporting Man City.

Nats going backwards in a big way.

Had a few injuries up front which has hindered them but bullpen has been beyond shocking and give up multiple wins in late innings

Braves take 3 of 4 at the Giants. New rookie Austin Riley hitting 5 homers in his first 9 games. Including the AAA appearances before getting called up, he has hit 18 homers this month!
Braves now only 1.5 games behind the Phillies.

Is very surprising but it is fun to watch. Willians Astudillo is now everyone's favourite baseball player, what he does shouldn't be possible, he's so much of an outlier with his approach its crazy, and so much fun

He's been great, but its the depth of batting power thats been remarkable. Polanco is hitting 3.44 (26 RBI), Garver .329 (19 RBI), then Arraez has just recently come in and gone 7 for 15. Rosario has hit 14 HR's and already has 39 RBI's, Cron 13 HR's and 30 RBI's, and those are the headliners but all down the order they are contributing.

The SP's have been solid, Odorizzi on 2.38 ERA, Perez on 2.95 and Berrios on 3.39, and for once the bullpen has been holding firm. I dunno what to make of it.

Its the Twins Jim, but not as we know it.

Useless bit of vaguely Albion-related trivia concerning this match - Jordan Maguire-Drew attended the game.

Sad to hear of the death of Bill Buckner, far too young at 69.

Remembered for that error in 86 against the Mets but had a fantastic 22 year career.

Thought they had become the A***oles this season?

:lolol:

BTW
There was a bit of "handbags at dawn" last night when Josh Donaldson (ex Jays as you know) got into it with the starting pitcher. Both got ejected. Nice entertaining start to the 1st innings!
Got better when they won 13/7.

And the Braves hit 4 homers in the 2nd inning tonight.
First time since 2003 that’s happened.
