There was speculation and suggestions that Ian Bell should be callrd up again for The Ashes but it appears that he has a toe injury and will be out of action for 3 months.

Colin Bell? Manchester City? Topical. Topical. Up to date. Cricket you say? Cricket, yes. I hurt my toe once. Didn't affect my cricket, but I never got to play for Manchester City. That was disappointing. Or was it ? 
Have the selectors given him a ring?

I didnt suggest it as it was the ex captain on the BBC reporting from the WI, Michael Vaughan or possibly Mike Atherton, which ever one was reporting for the BBC.
