I mostly saw ambulances and police racing past and police snipers in Hagley Park (my work looks over the park). The wife sadly saw one of the children that had been shot being taken to hospital in the back of a police car.

My usual commute takes me past the mosque, so had to take a different route and it the city has a very sombre mood tonight. A lot of restaurants and bars are shut an even the casino is closed.

To be fair, this is a city that's gone through a pretty shitty 10 years with the earthquakes and now this. "Resilient" is an over used word about Chch within NZ, but I really can't think of a better word to use.
My local fish and chip shop stopped taking orders when the waiting time got over two hours.
