Albion goalkeeper Tom McGill has been named in the England U-19 squad for the Elite qualification round of matches for the 2019 UEFA European U-19 championship. England will play three matches (all at St George's Park, Burton) starting next Wednesday against the Czech Republic and followed by matches against Greece on March 23 and Denmark on March 26 - A 21-STRONG SQUAD HAS BEEN SELECTED FOR ENGLAND U19S' ELITE EURO QUALIFIERS AT SGP
McGill last played for England at U-17 level when he started in a similar Elite qualifier against the Czech Republic out in Bosnia and Herzegovina on March 23 2017. He did travel with the England U-17 squad to the European Championship Finals tournament in Croatia that May, but only as a non-playing member of the squad. (As it happens, McGill was actually born in Canada).
McGill is currently out on loan at Basingstoke Town. Earlier in the season he was on loan at Greenwich Borough (and should have been on loan at Worthing until they cancelled the arrangement after Lucas Covolan remained with the club in August of last year).
