[Humour] Brighton and Bristol are the same place

When I go to Bristol I think it's more like Brighton than anywhere else I've spent any time. Not the same of course, but where would you say is more like Brighton?

My take is that if Brighton was a proper city it would be Bristol.

Agreed. Spent a lot of time in Bristol in my younger years and loved it. Helped by staying on my Uncles farm in Brockley ( just outside Bristol ). Two very similar 'feeling' cities.

A relative mine had a girlfriend who was not too bright in the 80s. She was coming down from London to Brighton for the first time and called when she reached Victoria and he said call him when she arrived in Brighton and he'd pick her up. He was surprised when 15 minutes later she called. That's impossible he said and when he asked her to describe where she was she said that there was a busy road and loads of red buses. She'd gone to Brixton on the tube...
