2nd half much better from Brighton. Why ? The main reason i could see was we got the ball out to the wingers more often and more quickly .

We have decent wingers but in the 1st half Ali J was several times calling out for the ball and didnt get it, Knocky was getting fed up not receving the ball, he kept drifting into the middle.

In the 2nd half , instead of passing backwards players like stephens and propper were looking more often for forward passes to our wingers. Bernardo especially looked to link up much more often.

When we get the ball to our wingers we look a lot more dangerous and we create more chances. Especially when we are playing teams at home who are in the bottom half of the table who are not putting us under intense pressure all the time

No real sense of urgency first half. Looked far more frantic second half, the kind of display they usually reserve for the last ten minutes when they're chasing a result. Now if only they could come out of the starting blocks like that...

First half - nervous did not want to lose , predictable & pedestrian

Second half - playing with more speed and confidence especially when Andone came on and gave more pace to the focal point

Think Chris gave them a talking too at halftime that created the urgency.

According to Ryan that'll be the third 'talking too' the first team has had since the Leicester game.

Oh to be a fly on the wall.

The main difference between the 1st & 2nd half against Huddersfield

Our midfield three really struggled with attacking in the first half. We know that Stephens is better placed protecting the back four as he offers little going forward but Bissouma and Pröpper should have been bombing on but were sitting back with Dale marking space with little Huddersfield threat. This was probably because we were caught once or twice on the break and the players lost confidence as relegation threatened teams sometimes do.

Is it possible to keep the energy levels up for the whole 90 minutes?
I've noticed in the past we tend to try and absorb the pressure, frustrate the opposition and deliberately slow the game down, when they want to score early. The more frustrated the opposition get, the more mistakes they make.
It isn't pretty but it can be effective.
This is why the majority of our goals scored tend to be in the north goal.

Of course, there are exceptions, such as when Palace capitulated, and we were 3-0 up by half time.

I think we got it right. Worst thing we could have done would have been to concede a silly goal in the first half and give Hudds something to cling on to. So keep it tight and gradually take control as the game goes on, then last 25 minutes bombard them with pressure.
Let’s face it they had nothing up front

Should have done this from the off. They played a diamond so were strong in he middle and weak down the flanks. With a bit more ambition we could have murdered them but chose safety first initially, as we have not been confident recently CH obviously felt we needed to settle into the game.

I'm not convinced it is entirely CH's fault how the team played the first half. I think it was the players playing that way rather than CH's tactics. Then he rollucked them at half time and brought Andone on. The rest is history.

IMHO Florin Andone replacing Glenn Murray. I'd be more than happy to see Andone start for the remainder of the season with Murray to come on for the last 15 minutes if needed. Murray, whilst a "wily old fox" etc etc with undoubted cunning and ability just hasn't got the pace - he never did have much but yesterday looked as if he'd got a couple of 10lb weights strapped to his ankles. No first touch either
