How is it 2019 and someone is having to point this out?!

Still, well done Joe Root.

This might have something to do with it:-

Same-sex sexual activity is illegal for males in Saint Lucia. (1) Any person who commits an act of gross indecency with another person commits an offence and is liable on conviction on indictment to imprisonment for ten years or on summary conviction to five years.

So, are we saying that in Saint Lucia, Joe Root is actually wrong, because there IS something wrong with being gay in Saint Lucia, it's illegal.

Only if you're a man.

Female homosexuality is legal.

Yes well done to joe Root . Are we any wiser as to what was said in the first place ?

No. The microphone didn't pick up on the remark, and Root chose not to repeat it when he was asked.

Really? That must have been a great comfort to the last two men hung for buggery in 1835.

The law applied only to actual buggery, until the Criminal Law Amendment Act 1885, known as the Labouchere Amendment which prohibited gross indecency between males. It thus became possible to prosecute homosexuals for engaging in sexual acts where buggery or attempted buggery could not be proven.

Read my post again, please. Frutos called it female homosexuality. It has never been illegal for lesbians in the UK.

Gabriel isn't from St. Lucia, he's from Trinidad and Tobago where same sex relations are legal.

Wonderful from Joe Root. We don't know what Gabriel said, but it's great to see someone standing against homophobia rather than just ignoring it. Good man.
