Comes into force on the 1st June

Does anyone in the business think rental prices will increase because of this?

Im glad to see the end of these rip off fees, some agents got greedy, king and chasemore are one of the worst, £300 for drawing up the agreement, yeah right, it's a cut and paste ast with your details entered, they even have the cheek to charge you £50 for setting up the standing order and issuing the deposit certificate, if agents want to blame anyone for the banning of fees you need to look at companies like k&c , good riddance to them

Robbing ******** stealing a living. They will just charge the landlords more fees, meaning they have to pass it on to the tenant.

I expect that to happen, but it will at least make things a bit more transparent

about time. could say legislation went too far but it reflects how agencies took fees too far.

some costs will be passed on through rent, as it should be, the landlords have the power to shop around for agencies with sensible costs and fees.

Rents appear to be falling the last 6 months in the area. Also had a few surveyors down valuing rental incomes this year

Some of the letting agents in Brighton are very ambitious in getting high rents. There are a few ridiculous demands on Right Move. It's always good to see them sitting there a few weeks later too.

Could that be the buy-to-let tax relief rules starting to bite?

Quite possibly, also the Brexit factor is spooking lenders and surveyors at the moment
