Think they're just trying to understand your definition of socialist and work out why they can't have nice things/have to give away all their money? From reading this thread their definition and yours seem completely at odds and that is where the "tension" is coming from.

No tension at all from me. I just don't pretend to be something I'm not. I'm honest enough to admit that I'm just out for myself and beyond family and friends I couldn't care less about others. Most of us are exactly the same as me but many stick an X in the box for labour at election time and feel very proud to be a socialist and then return to their comfortable middle class life with a 1901 membership.

It’s not comfortable up there, the q’s for drinks in the Harvey’s lounge at halftime are at least 1 deep!

But you haven't explained why a Labour voter can't enjoy 1901 membership.

Ooohhhhhh don't like being called a hypocrite do ya ha ha ?? That's exactly what you are though. Labour voter and yet you have 1901 membership, whats wrong don't you wanna mix with the working classes in the standard seats??

If I did move to the standard seats I might end up next to you! Im not sure you’d want that...so be careful what you wish for.

They can enjoy it although I think it's hypocritical to be a labour voter and have 1901 membership. Most labour voters go on about 'elitism' and wanting a 'fairer society' etc so having 1901 membership goes against those principles. Why not sit in standard (padded) seats and donate the difference in cost between that and the 1901 to charity?

I'm also a Conservative voter, I read the daily mail I like Farage and Trump and I'm a buy to let landlord...............I don't fit in very well amongst the elite trendy liberal NSC brigade. But unlike some I dpn't try and pretend to be something I'm not.

NSC may not be as you perceive it, you can’t go simply by the same few names always piling-in who are pro Corbyn and Remain. There’s a wide array of views, loads of Tory voters who just get on with life and don’t post on politics, and you can’t pigeon-hole people. I’ve sometimes voted Tory, but I detest Trump for many reasons.

Very true. I just enjoy the debate to be honest.

Strewth. Those who pay for hospitality have to walk ?

I assumed they'd lay on transport to the door. Shoddy if not.

Hospitality at Withdean was a priority queue for a burger and a private access portaloo for the inevitable toilet emergency 30 minutes later.
