It seems almost too obvious to say our best-ever centre back pairing, but in the early 80s we had Lawrenson and Foster. At the time it was often said they were the best central defence partnership in the top flight.

Dunk used to have two. His temperament, and lack of searing pace. He's sorted the former out, and the latter he deals with by positioning, but it's something that might be exposed at a top, top level.
Duffy's distribution is limited.

Testing it on a private browser however and he is still in number 1, that’s not bad for a word with quite a lot of meanings.
Dunk can sometimes give the ball away too easily in clearing ... a bit at the beginning on Saturday and for England. Then he shakes it off and is fine. I put this down to a bit of nerves, and no doubt he’ll conquer that too.
Both are exceptional, possibly even better with the arrival of Montoya and Bernardo.
