Hell of a stat this.......

Dunk and Duffy's importance to Brighton is underlined by the statistics. With them together in the Seagulls line-up, they have won 43.8 per cent of their Premier League games this season (seven out of 16). Without them, they have won zero per cent (none in five).

They are both throwbacks as central defenders, too. Nowadays, there seems to be an obsession with centre-backs being able to pass their way out of trouble rather than find Row Z if required.

So Dunk'n'Duffy are just old-fashioned hoofers are they? Has the reporter never seen Dunk imperiously playing his way out of defence and pinging an inch perfect 40 yard pass to one of the wingers?
Shoddy work from the reporter there - rest of it was OK, but no excuse.

I haven’t read the report in full but the quote doesn’t say that. My take is that when required they aren’t afraid of clearing their lines or hitting row Z. Nothing wrong with that it’s about decision making and knowing when to play and when to play percentages.

Both have the ability to play out but not without overdoing it like others in the league.
