First-half we played well, pretty much in charge throughout. They scored a great goal against the run of play. Should we have been in front before that though? Bissouma opting to shoot instead of play the ball across for Andone to tap-in. Locadia playing well and like he has a point to prove, getting into good positions and playing some great passes. Very very harsh to be behind at the break.

Felt fairly confident at half-time that we would go on to get at least a draw from the game. Second half begins, first few minutes carry on as the first half did and then suddenly we look on the back foot and let them in to the game. Bissouma elbows their player in the back of the head, Dunk gets a yellow card. Montoya can’t find a player wearing blue and white when crossing the ball in to the box. Dunk then sent off for a stupid challenge which completely killed any inkling that we could maybe get a draw out of this. We look awful now.

What happened to the team that was pretty much in charge during the first half, what occurred at half-time?

This.
First half was (despite the goal) encouraging, second half abysmal, though not helped by Dean's antics

The first goal in football is so important. After that it’s catch up, leaving gaps at the back.

Shit does indeed happen, but we should know by now how to stop it happening, it's a far too regular occurring theme.

Constant back passing and pressurising our own keeper is a massive fail in my book, and a lack of killer instinct as soon as we get over the half way line.

Glad to see Hughton trying something a little different, that was a positive, and we played well at times in the first half.

Second half was very deflating though, the second goal and sending off were a killer. We seem to be missing something, perhaps it’s just a bit of self belief. Hopefully Mike Dean will hold his hands up and admit his mistaken yellow card so we can reunite Duffy and Dunk for the Arse game.

That was one of the best 1st half performances away from home since Brighton got promoted. I was quite optimistic 2nd half, but it turned into a damp squib.

They got a grip of midfield in the second half, that's what happened. And with no Duffy, Stephens or Murray the spine of the team looked flimsy when we were on the back foot. Looked good in the first half though when we had more of the ball.

If anything the second half highlighted the role that Stephens plays in the team and the first half the role he doesn't/can't. Hopefully Hughton will get the balance right of when to play or not play him and those who slag him off can realise what he brings to the team.

As an aside that team started with only two of the side that got us promoted. That has to be a record low number? Earlier in the season we had seven or eight.

I don’t think that’s possible to rescind a 2 yellow red even if it is a clear case of mistaken identity, is it?

No goal scored when we were on top. Only one team was going to win today.

We just seem to be totally impotent away from home. If we could only succesfully eradicate that problem we would be a top half of the table side.

This.we are definitely in our shit spell.Look forward to the return of 2 wingers that may threaten to beat their man on the outside and get a killer touchline cross or two in. We also need to shoot from outside the box for a change - what ever happened to having a go like Jiri Skalak v QPR did. you could argued palace only won today because of that Townsend wonder strike.
