Driving to Scotland for Christmas that year. Went to the office party and got smashed - dreadful hangover, so delayed our departure for 24 hours. Passed that spot in the photo exactly 24 hours after the crash happened. Sometimes even a hangover can be lucky.

That does actually seem a long time ago to me. I was 8 when it happened and I don't really think I understood it properly until I was a bit older, which gives it a feeling of being before my time.
