Looks like being a bit of an ordeal. Living near Croydon (yes I know) have booked a train from Clapham Junction, however since booking South West Trains are now no longer running, RMT are striking.

Any suggestions for an alternative route? I'm sure I read on here that the coastal route incorporates a replacement bus service.

Help and recommendations would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

There is still a strike service on SWR to Bournemouth, although might be a bit poky as only one train an hour. Will still be quicker than going either from Croydon via Chichester to Southampton or via Paddington/Reading though. Also bear in mind the Cross County trains from Reading to Bournemouth are usually only four or five carriages so also fill up quite quickly.
For the SWR strike service 10:07 from Clapham Junction due into Pokesdown at 11:58 Same each hour. Trains back from Pokesdown to London at 22mins past until 20:22.

Thanks, had a quick check as I never thought of Reading. Quicker Redhill to Reading then on to Bournemouth.

Not sure if my ticket is transferable but I'll give it a go.

If you've got a strike on then other carriers should take you, shirley ?
