Brightons players were so impressed with Eden Hazard's performance against them on Sunday that the squad were left admiring the "unbelievable" forward after their 2-1 loss to Chelsea at the Amex Stadium.

That's according to Brighton defender Leon Balogun, who revealed how the team talked about the Belgian star in the dressing room after he scored one and created another to inspire Chelsea to victory on Sunday.

"He's unbelievable," Balogun exclusively told Standard Sport when asked about Hazard.

"We just spoke about it in the dressing room. He's as quick with the ball as he is without it. His control is magnificent, so it's very hard to...you cannot control him, really. It's hard.

Yet, The Argus muppet posters are all stupidly criticising Dale Stevens for being too slow and unfit to catch Hazard for the second goal.

The problem was they started admiring him before and during the match.

Both manager and players were guilty of showing Chelsea far too much respect. We looked like a real soft touch.

Losing a game 4-0 is a soft touch. Losing a game 2-1 and almost getting an equaliser is not a real soft touch. Yes, we had a poor first half, but did so much better later on in the game.

Warren got it right on Albion Unlimited last night. We go in to these games against the top sides showing them far too much respect, almost like we can’t believe we’re playing against these players. It’s happening every game, we need to sort it out. The players are good enough to be there, they just need to beleive it.

Waking up after an hour is too late.
