As has become tradition me and Mrs Crodo will be attending a carol service on Christmas Eve where some of the nations favourites will be performed by the Salvation Army and members of the local community, but what is NSC's favourite Christmas/Winter carol?

???

Whenever I find myself in a carol singing situation, I still can't resist singing the wrong words.

While shepherds washed their socks by night....

Jingle Bells..... oh what fun it is to see Brighton win away / Palace run away

And obviously, during Away in a Manger...... the little Lord Jesus looked down and he said... We hate Palace and we hate Palace etc etc

Good King Wenceslas, just because of the bit in Love Actually where the welsh copper sings it.

And no “O Come, O Come Emmanuel”? I voted “In the Bleak Midwinter”. I enjoy a good, maudlin Christmas carol...

O Come, O Come Emmanuel is an Advent hymn looking forward to Christmas. It's one I love singing especially with harmonies

Oh Holy Night is my favourite Christmas hymn, and I love Let it Snow from the commercial side.

This.

Also the Coventry carol.

When you sing the " non fluffy baby Jesus" carols, there are some extremely sad prophetic songs that are truly beautiful but in the right atmosphere can be extremely moving.

Please add Sussex Carol to the poll options.

It’s beautiful and of course it’s the best part of the world.
