I agree with the Baronness.............

Baronness Newlove said: "I stand by sammywoodhouse1 to get this perverse law changed. Rapists leave their parental rights at the door the moment they commit their crime."

the perversity isnt simply his "rights" but that a public body has taken the trouble to track down and provide information to the father. they claim a legal obligation, im quite sure a name isnt on the birth certificate, so they have gone to lengths to connect this convict to the child. im not convinced about a care order in the first place, Ms Woodhouse doesnt really look or sound like someone having the child taken into care? maybe im missing something but the appearance is the council went beyond normal effort here.

It was the original failures within Rotherham Council that allowed this systematic child abuse to continue for as long as it did.

As a consequence of a recognition of those failures it was announced nearly four years ago that Rotherham council was to come under central government control after an independent inspection of its handling of child sexual exploitation concluded it was not fit for purpose.

Is this latest decision one made by the central government controlled Rotherham Council? If so they are no more fit for purpose than the original Council they took over from.

The father is not on the birth certificate, and did not even ask to be when 'told'. Fair play to the lady too, with everything she went through to waive anonymity to highlight this.

Agreed - he should have zero rights to see this child. Just like a murderer he should have his 'human rights' made as valid as hers when he was raping her. You should be stripped of your human rights when you commit an inhuman act, end of story.

Once the little boy is 18 he can make an informed decision as to wether to go and find a man who committed the rape of a 15 year old child and decide wether this scumbag should be a part of his life.
