Another tough afternoon for Brighton as they continue their first season in the Womens Super League. Todays opponents Reading have been in the top league since 2015 and their experience and additional class told today. Albion went in at the break only 1-0 down (adjudged an own goal a shot came off the post hit our goalie in the back and went in) which was a bit fortunate as we were outmuscled at times and struggled to pass to our own team! Powell made two changes at half time and Brighton were a lot brighter and despite a second goal for Reading we continued to press and Whelan scored a good headed goal to bring the deficit back down to 1. Unfortuantely our brighter play and pressure didn't tell and with a mistake and then a deflection Reading were able to put the game out of reach and finish 4-1 winners, a result that was a bit harsh, especially on our second half performance. My Albion Player of the match was defender Victoria Williams.

The teams latest defeat leaves us 9th in the table (out of 11), but at least the teams around us (West Ham, Yeovil and Everton) all lost too!

Brightons next two matches are Arsenal away (can't see us getting much there) and home against West Ham on 2nd December (a game we really need to win!).
